Substantiated evidence allows us to demonstrate that metaphors are not only essential for expressing complex concepts of language. But they are above all, very effective therapeutic tools in communication. It is a ma tter of analyzing them from a pragmatic and enunciative perspective. In this article, we offer clinical examples illustrating the richness of the use of metaphors in psychotherapy. Interpretation of metaphors will lead to some results grounded in the referential expressiveness of therapy, which can help patients become aware of the unique challenges they face, this suscitates the inspiration and motivation needed to move forwards engage in positive change.
