This article proposes the essential mission of reporting mainly on the way in which the reappropriation of the question of being takes place in the Gilsonian philosophical apparatus, while showing how over time the said reappropriation has in fact become, creating a new perspective. Renewal of perspective, because by rehabilitating the Thomistic thesis of the act of being, the Gilsonian gesture of reinterpretation is not only in line with the continuity of the work of the angelic doctor, but it repositions itself in current contemporary philosophy as an alternative between the supposed essentialism of tradition and contemporary existentialism, become therefore, the prelude to a new era of fruitfulness.
