Abstract

In the space of a few months, the coronavirus epidemic declared in China in December 2019 has become a global health crisis with disastrous political, economic and social effects. Across the five continents, it has set in motion the capacity of states to act in an emergency and changed acquired habits. The objective of this study is to analyze the way in which the Congolese authorities communicated on this pandemic towards the population, but also how, for their part, the population reacted to the many measures set out in the context of this health crisis. of covid-19 still ongoing. We observed that the unexpected nature of this pandemic caught the government by surprise, revealing at the very beginning both the difficulties of the latter in coordinating its communications operations and the fragility of the health system throughout the country. Nevertheless, it appeared, despite its magnitude, that the covid-19 pandemic aroused a general awareness which resulted for the Congolese executive in the registration or re-registration of the national public health offer in the priority register.
