Peace, tolerance and reconciliation: a lexicon of interculturality in Ivorian school discourse

: this study offers an analysis of school discourse centered on the notions of peace, tolerance and reconciliation, using Olga Galatanu’s method of argumentative possibilitieswithin a semantic and soci-discursive framework. These three concepts, whichare central to the post-crisis context of Ivory Coast, are examined as lexical units carrying axiological values and ideological orientations, embeddad ina discursive strategy aimed at contructing interculturality in the school setting-particularl through the content of textbooks. In other words, this article highlights how these lexemes activate argumentative possibilities directed toward promoying national unity, social cohesion, and the ideal of living together within Ivorian state.
