This article presents the stylistic research on synecdochic and metonymic functions in the writing of Mongo Béti. It aims to show that the synecdoche of the bodily part functions as a metonymy to suggest the qualities or defects of the characters. Indeed, the approaches to the meaning of the sign and the implicit that we have chosen will make it possible to explain that polysemy and aesthetics exist in the synecdochic and metonymic uses of Mongo Beti’s writing. Our results indicate that five parts of the human body are highlighted through the use of synecdoche and metonymy in Mongo Beti: head, eyes, ears, mouth and feet. Each of its parts becomes a metonymy to express human qualities and defects in the fiction of Mongo Béti
