This research work aims at scrutinizing different problems that prevent the teaching of English wh-question pronunciation based on one question word at secondary school. In fact, it results from classroom observation and questionnaire that this English language item is mentioned in the English syllabus, but it is not taught and assessed for several reasons. Actually, prospective teachers are not equipped with teaching strategies on this language item during the training period at University. In addition, workshops and seminars are not organised to reinforce the secondary school teachers’ awareness on the teaching of this aspect. Finally, the selected teaching item is not part of testing activities. Consequently, teachers lack strategies to teach English wh-question pronunciation. Thus, the 3Ps (Presentation, Practice, and Production) method coupled with a lesson plan have been suggested to show the way English wh-question pronunciation could be taught and assessed at secondary schools.
