Abstract

This article deals with a category of words known as being ideophones in Fang (Ntumu dialect), a Bantu language of Gabon. This preliminary study, which is based on 200 terms, presents some phonological and morphological characteristics of these words, and offers the first description and classification of the Fang idiophones.
