This paper scrutinised the greetings driving data from Likuba community under a sociolinguistic analysis. Ken Bach & Robert M. Harnich postulated in the literature (1979: 51-52) that greetings are not content-based. Yet, this paper demonstrates that in Likuba, greetings are motivated and socially expressing a special context.
