Like in many Gabonese languages, Yipunu has borrowed several words from French. This work lays an emphasis on verbs. The comparative study of the phonetic, phonological and morphological systems of these languages (French and Yipunu) reveal several phenomena. Semantically, the meaning of these borrowed verbs is generally invariable. Yet, for some of them their meaning has been specified or changed. Key-words : verbal borrowing, French, Yipunu, phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics.
