Abstract

Paralinguistic elements accompany and enhance the aesthetics of almost all African dances. These elements become one with the dance and with the actors themselves. They implicitly and explicitly translate the life and thought of the actors of the Kyebe-Kyebe dance and even that of the entire Mbɔsi community. These people, through these elements, exteriorize themselves and translate their vision of the world. For Mbɔsi dance actors, the Paralinguistic elements are almost inseparable from them and are facts about culture and civilization. Accordingly, this study has scrutinised the aesthetics of Kyebe-Kyebe dance through Paralinguistic elements. It results from the observation of different actors of Mbɔsi dances, more particularly those of the Kyebe-Kyebe dance. This contriution analyzes the way in which the actors of this dance use different elements outside the linguistic field to create beauty in their dance and to offer joy to the whole community.
