Stuttering is a linguistic scourge which affects all social strata of the international human community which has dedicated a worldwide day to stuttering, November 22. The purpose of this article is to describe the problems of stuttering. Language, considered as a system of systems, requires in its acquisition or learning an adjustment of the phonetic-phonological system, the handling of an increasingly rich lexicon and the mastery of grammatical constraints in a discursive situation. This process of appropriation can be thwarted by a difficulty preventing easy and fluid access to speech. Many conditions can disrupt language, such as motor disorders, damage to sensory organs, psychiatric illnesses, etc.
