This paper scrutinizes the impact of colonization on Akwa anthroponym in Congo. Like almost everywhere else, colonial settlement has profoundly affected anthroponymy in Akwa country in northern Congo. This linguistic interference has been characterized by a destructuring of traditional names that has taken root since colonization to the present day. This article which proceeds by the methodological review of the documentary files and the interviews with various people, proposes to analyze these impacts.
