The study of names of places (toponyms) presents a great importance, because from an onomastic analysis of proper nouns in the city of Bangui, not only we give information about the historical origin of these places, but also we sometimes propose some ways to understand socio-cultural, socio-anthropological or ethnolinguistical phenomena that were linked to these places and people who lived there or still live there. The study of toponymic units of a town like Bangui has a great importance, either for the reconstitution of the history of the inhabited places or not, and also for the attribution of a content, a context and even of a cultural orientation to toponyms of this town. The present paper has revealed toponymic units of the town of Bangui are first of all linguistic unit shaving a form. Then, they convey a context and sometimes they have a semantic content. At last, now they undergo severe mutations that would take out their meanings.
