At the heart of human thought is a perpetual quest to understand the real, truth and rationality. However, this quest is very often faced by grey areas, uncertain cognitive regions where the real and unreal seem to merge. There is a blurred boundary between the rational and the irrational, the real and the unreal. The varied and sometimes surprising forms of rationality are problematic because they are always unable to distinguish between what is real and imaginary, a distinction highlighted by the concept of the indistinguishability of the real. By posing the problem of the status of rationality in contemporary science, this article aims to understand how man's apprehension of reality can alter factors such as belief and intuition. This being the case, can we talk about an absence of meaning without running into contradictions? Is there a watertight boundary between rational and unreal?
